Questions people ask

Does it cost anything?

No, and there is nothing to sign up for. We built the verse data already, so letting you show it costs us nothing.

Will it slow my site down?

It loads in its own frame, after your page, so it cannot hold up anything of yours. The whole widget is a few kilobytes and it pulls in no fonts, no analytics, and no third party scripts.

Does it track our visitors?

No. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in the browser. It fetches the verse text and nothing else.

Which translations are these?

The King James Version and the World English Bible, both in the public domain. Nothing under copyright is reproduced, so you are free to display either one. See translations.

Can we change how it looks?

Pick light, dark, or match the visitor's device above, and set the height. If you want it to sit differently in your layout, wrap the embed code in your own container and style that.

What is the small link at the bottom?

A single plain link back to this site. It is how people find us, and it is the only thing we ask in return. Please leave it in place.

Can we make the frame resize itself?

The widget posts its height to the parent page, so if you are comfortable with a little JavaScript you can listen for a rbs-widget-height message and set the frame height from it. Most sites will not need to: the verse text shrinks to fit whatever height you choose.
